Bound in the publisher's iconic red cloth. The twelfth revised edition of 'Southern Germany' and the fifteenth revised edition of 'Northern Germany'.'Southern Germany' is illustrated with thirty seven maps while 'Northern Germany' contains 46 maps and numerous plans. Collated lacking one map to 'Northern Germany'.Established in 1827 the German publishing house were pioneers of worldwide travel handbooks. By drawing on specialist knowledge their guides provide brief historical and cultural introductions alongside detailed information about travel routes the available facilities and descriptions of attractions and noteworthy buildings. Bound in the publisher's red cloth. Externally excellent with light bumping to the extremities. Rubbing to the spine and extremities of 'Northern'. Foyle's bookseller label to front paste down of 'Northern'. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Folding map frontispiece to 'Southern' has been laid down repairing a large tear. The odd additional tear to folding plates. Plan to page 124 of 'Northern' is disbound but present plan to page 145 has tape repairs and map to page 282 is missing.
