Lacking the frontispiece map of Spain and map of the railways of Spain at the end of the volume but all other maps and plans are present. Karl Baedeker was a German publisher whose travel guides set the standard for guidebooks for tourists. Baedeker insisted on the importance of quality reliable maps in the travel guides. In a red cloth binding with gilt title to spine and board. Externally generally smart with some light rubbing in places. Splitting to the cloth at the front joint. Light bumping to extremities. Ink signature to front free-endpaper. Internally generally firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean with just some marginal age toning and light tidemarks to the title page. Chipping to the folding map at page 227. Lacking frontispiece map and final railway map. Good Karl Baedeker hardcover
