Top/bottom of spine lightly rubbed and moderately creased. 3.5' thin 'dashed' line of white paint in center of spine. Rear board has a handling crease from top to bottom. Front hinge tender but holding tight. Front/rear endpapers heavily toned. Light bubbling to rear pastedown. 3' x 1/2' tear to edge of front pastedown not affecting lettering. Vintage bookseller sticker on back of front map. Corresponding ghost of sticker on verso of half title page. Previous owner info penciled on half title. They contain among other things maps and information regarding routes travel facilities noteworthy sights attractions and museums written by specialists. With a folding frontispiece map of the Mediterranean thirty-seven maps a number of which are dual-spread and forty-nine plans seventeen folding. Collated complete. Covers Madeira the Canary Islands the Coast of Morocco Algeria and Tunisia. This is also the only Baedeker handbook in English containing a description of Constantinople. In the original cloth binding. Externally very smart indeed with only a few light marks to the boards and minor shelf wear. Internally firmly bound.
