100686<p>Very good. - A 3-1/8 inch high by 6 inch wide sheet of light teal paper from an autograph album signed in full "Franchot Tone" in red ink under a small portrait clipped from a periodical. The sheet is also signed in red ink on the verso by Fredric March under a small portrait clipped from a periodical. There are binding stab marks along the inner edge of the sheet and both autographs are further identified in black ink along the top of the pages. Very good.</p><p>The American actor producer and film stage and television director Franchot Tone 1905-1968 was known for his leading roles in the 1930's and early 1940's. As a leading man he was known for his gentlemanly sophisticated roles. He went on to play supporting roles in the 1950's. He starred in many genres from romantic leads to noir films and World War I movies. On television he had roles in "The Twilight Zone" and "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour". He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor along with his co-stars Clark Gable and Charles Laughton for their roles in "Mutiny on the Bounty". He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.</p><p>The American actor Fredric March 1897-1975 was one of Hollywod's most celebrated stars of the 1930's and 1940s'. He won Academy Awards for his roles in "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" and for "The Best Years of Our Lives". He was also nominated for "The Royal Family of Broadway" "A Star is Born" and "Death of a Salesman". March also starred in "Death Takes a Holiday" "The Barretts of Wimpole Street" "The Dark Angel" "I Married a Witch" :Anna Kerenina" "Executive Suite" "The Bridges at Toko-Ri" "The Desperate Hours" among many others with his final appearance in "The Iceman Cometh" in 1973.</p>

A very attractive set. Scarce. 32953. Octavo later small octavo 23 issues pictorial wrappers side stapled. Pulp 1-12 and later digest 13-23 sized magazine. All published. This was Australia's first SF pulp magazine it was in the vein of U.S. pulp magazine 1920-30s. Many of the stories were produced under pseudonyms artwork contributors included Stanley Pitt and Ray Cavanagh. It did not last in large part due to higher quality material appearing from overseas imports. This magazine also published a number of stories by Australias first female SF author N. K.
