Gilt embossed lettering to the front board and spine. Upper edges gilt. Illustrated with 16 b/w plates including frontispiece plate as called for. The book has some spine lean. Bump to one corner and to the head and tail of the spine. A little toning to the spine and a little soiling to the top corner of the front board and a few light stains to teh front edge of the rear board. Light rubbing to the board corners. Previous owners ink name inscripton to the head of the front paste down. Splitting to the front inner hinge now repaired. Scattered foxing throughout. Tightly bound. A very good copy.
