1953150095London: Panther Books . Hamilton & Co. Stafford 1953. Octavo cloth. First edition. Two pacifistic members of a warlike alien race the Gruuls reach the Earth in a faster-than-light starship a few years ahead of a slower Gruul space armada that intends to conquer and colonize the Solar System. The renegade Gruuls who wish to prevent the Gruul expansion and its domination of other intelligent races in the Galaxy provide plans for super weapons to enable the nations of Earth to defend themselves against the alien invaders. Inevitably this starts an arms race between the formerly peaceful Earth governments but Australia invents on their own a protective force field -- which is a game changer. Simultaneously the Gruul space fleet arrives in the Solar System and it is destroyed by combined Earth forces unfortunately the Gruuls do not have protective force fields.
