La prima rappresentazione ebbe luogo al Teatro la Scala di Milano il 28 Marzo 1896. Trascrizione facile per pianoforte di Gellio Benvenuto Coronaro. In buone condizioni. Brossura editoriale in ottime condizioni generali con lievi usure e strappi ai margini e dorso. Legatura editorialmente assente. Tra l'alternarsi di immagini e visioni di «rinascimento» e di «declino»>, il destino del centro storico di Napoli è stato motivo di contesa tra gli attori politici, economici e sociali negli ultimi trent'anni. Attingendo agli strumenti analitici offerti dagli studi urbani contemporanei, soprattutto quelli di provenienza anglo-americana sulla "nuova politica urbana" nelle città tardo-capitalistiche, e rielaborandoli alla luce del contesto storico-geografico del «Mezzogiorno delle città» e di quello della metropoli napoletana in particolare, il libro ricostruisce le vicende di politica urbana che hanno segnato la storia del centro storico di Napoli dagli anni Settanta a oggi, con un'attenzione particolare rivolta agli ultimi due decenni. Il confronto tra la «coalizione pro crescita» e quella «progressista», l'esperienza di nuovo governo locale degli anni Novanta, il ruolo dei movimenti sociali, le politiche di rigenerazione urbana, la crisi di consenso politico di inizio secolo e le difficoltà incontrate dai più recenti esperimenti di pianificazione strategica sono i principali temi affrontati nel volume. Il libro si conclude riflettendo sulle contraddizioni e aporie delle vicende politico-urbanistiche nella città napoletana e sugli insegnamenti che possono trarsene per gli studi critici di politica urbana. Ugo Rossi (1975) ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca in Geografia dello Sviluppo presso l'Università "L'Orientale" di Napoli, sotto la guida di Pasquale Coppola. Si è specializzato nel Regno Unito, all'Università di Durham, e ha avuto incarichi post-dottorato di ricerca in Olanda, all' Università di Amsterdam, e alla Johns Hopkins University negli Stati Uniti. Attualmente è assegnista di ricerca presso l'Università di Cagliari. Ha all'attivo pubblicazioni in riviste nazionali e internazionali e in volumi collettanei. I suoi interessi di ricerca si concentrano principalmente su tematiche di geografia politica ed economica dello sviluppo urbano e regionale.
