En effet, en p.3, Kerst encense le concert de la veille qui inaugura les Concerts au Théâtre du Château d'Eau, « la salle tout entière, comme mue par un ressort, s'est levée pour acclamer le chef d'orchestre et sa brillante phalange harmonique. Eugène Grumbach (1833-1913) avait en effet acquis la manufacture de piano Flaxland début 1887 et avait transporté les magasins au 48 rue de Chateaudun. Il y tenait des salons à disposition des artistes pour des réunions et auditions musicales, à des conditions avantageuses. Il était aussi connu comme négociant en diamants. [420]
