29189 — o.J. Mary Fairfax Greig Somerville. Schottische Mathematikerin, Astronomin, Autodidaktin. Seit 1812 in zweiter Ehe mit William Somerville verheiratet. Lebte seit 1838 in Italien, zunächst in Florenz, dann in Neapel. Verfaßte zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Werke. Ein Mondkrater ist nach ihr benannt. 1780 Jedburgh - 1872 Neapel. Kniestück sitzend, in den Händen Stift und Schriftstück. Engl. Stahlstich der Zeit. Bildgröße 188 x 138 mm. Blattgröße 268 x 195 mm.
