198014498<p>Very Good HC no DJ. Beige cloth over boards white stylized woman’s head with hair spelling 'Kaliflower' on front cover the hair wrapping around spine onto back cover; gray laid paper end papers. Bright generally clean covers and spine have few small spots; firm square corners; tightly bound; crisp clean interior. Brilliant colorful images and print on every page. Starting in April of 1969 Sutter Street Commune in S.F. following Digger philosophy began issuing a free intercommunal newspaper to area communes to ‘pass the dharma’ i.e. share information with other like-minded communards. For the next 3 years Kaliflower was distributed on a weekly basis eventually to nearly 300 communes. This volume is drawn from some of those issues but also has some commentary about the making and growth of Kaliflower. As with everything this group produced nothing is signed or attributed. One of the Sutter Street Commune founders was an experienced printer and the press work was high quality. This is a nicely bound fine quality volume. 187100JT57France 1871. Incredible anti-patriotic French document calling for an end to violence and calling for "L'Humanite". France was considered by most Prussians as being very aggressive regarding the loose coalition of states prior to the formation of the German Empire. The conflict led to the end of the Nalpoleonic era and to France becoming the only republican great power. The document is headed - TUER EST TOUJOURS UN CRIME! - To Kill is Always A Crime. . Autograph. Manuscript. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Paperback

br.

He displays well-honed analytical skills particularly in dissecting the trend toward judicial and scholarly activism that threatens the integrity of the law in England and America." -- Judge Robert H. Bork Former U. S. Solicitor General and Former Acting Attorney General of the United States and a Former U. S. Court of Appeals Judge. -- DESCRIPTION: This is the only currently available book to identify explain analyze and discuss some of the most important and controversial principles of the common law of England. Among the many questions addressed here are: Is the common law based on principles or not If so what are they and where do they come from Can judges make up principles Are logic and reason still principles of the law Does the European Union law enjoy higher law status Does human rights law enjoy higher law status With the great emphasis today placed on rights does the old principle still hold true that "Where there's a right there's a remedy" What has happened to the doctrine "Nobody shall profit from his own wrongdoing" And what about the human rights supposedly guaranteed by the European Convention This book focuses on two: individual liberty and freedom of expression. Michael Arnheim addresses these questions and also examines practical principles which can make all the difference to for example the validity of a will the interpretation of a contract or the outcome of a claim in negligence or administrative law. Written is a straightforward easily accessible style and drawing on recent cases such as those involving Tony Martin Naomi Campbell Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones this book will be illuminating to practicing lawyers and students alike. -- with a bonus offer-- .
