Small quarto bound in midnight blue full calf stamped in gilt with "Frank Fuhrer Sr. Memorial Challenge Cup 1980" on front cover and "Frank Fuhrer Jr." in gilt at lower right on front cover as well. Near fine copy slightly musty odor. 592 pp illustrated. Probably one of a number of copies Fuhrer had bound up for special people. Fuhrer who died in 2022 at the age of 96 was a native of East Brady in Clarion County and built one of the largest beer distributor businesses in the country. In the sports world he was instrumental in keeping the Pirates solvent in 1995. But he was best known for his passion in golf having staged the two-day PGA Tour's Family House Invitational for 14 years. He later started the Frank B. Fuhrer Invitational golf tournament which was held usually at the Pittsburgh Field Club. Knopf hardcover
