Worthy reference copy. Book
59 pages. Five pages of nice colour photos of the band and members. Includes piano sheet music, lyrics and guitar chords for these songs: Point of No Return; Paradox; The Spider; Portrait (He Knew); Closet Chronicles; Dust in the Wind; Sparks of the Tempest; Lightning's Hand; Nobody's Home; Hopelessly Human. Above-average wear. Sticker removal marks on illustrated front cover. Binding weak - first three pages partially loose. Why is this copy so worn? Because these songs are so awesome to play! 415 pages. Index. "Every community has something rare and distinctive. Every Community has its own personality, to a substantial degree the personality of the people who found it. Nobleford Monarch can offer one of the best examples. More than in most areas, Nobleford and Monarch carried the imprint of its great pioneer personalities... It would be a tragedy if the accounts or hopes and struggles and triumphs and disappointments of such people and their times were lost; or if the determination and imagination and moral fibre of trailblazers like Charles S. Noble were forgotten." - from Foreward by Dr. Grant MacEwan. Contents include: Physical Geography; Early History; Agriculture; Local Groups and Organizations; Local Businesses; Oil and Gas Exploration; Honor Roll; Family Biographies; Old Timers not Traced. Orange decorated cloth-covered boards. Pages lightly yellowed at edges. Average wear. Binding intact. A sound copy. Krotki [2e] 779, Strathern 3177. Book

8vo., First Edition, with an engraved frontispiece, title-vignette and very numerous delightful illustrations in the text, very neat calligraphic inscription (in French) on blank preliminary; handsomely bound in mid-nineteenth century green full morocco, sides with triple frame border enclosing elegant floral tools at corners, back gilt extra with five raised bands, bands ruled in gilt, second compartment lettered in gilt, all other compartments elaborately tooled in gilt to a floral design, all edges gilt, doublures richly tooled in gilt, joints lightly rubbed, old and dulled tide-mark at lower outer corner of upper and lower boards (not affecting interior or contents), but a notably bright, clean copy in splendid period binding. With 2pp publisher's catalogue bound in at end. First edition of this popular fable drawn originally from the Ossian-Fingal legends. The author (1808-1880) was the brother and biographer of Alphonse de Musset. The unfortunate mark on the boards are the only flaw in what is otherwise a quite remarkable copy. Very scarce, especially in this condition.
