Autore di un gran numero di vedute fù il principale illustratore dell'Album Esposizione di Belle Arti in Milano. Tale album venne pubblicato annualmente dal 1839 al 1861 prima da Carlo Canadelli e poi da Giuliano Canadelli e C., in forma di strenna con tavole ritraenti le opere esposte annualmente presso l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. Egli fu un abile e attento vedutista capace di cogliere il bello della vita quotidiana tanto incidendo da sue stesse invenzioni tanto riproducendo dipinti o fotografie di altri autori. A tal proposito vale la pena ricordare la serie del Dragherrotipo delle vedute milanesi, primo esempio di impiego della fotografia quale modello per le incisioni, esteso anche ad altre città italiane per un totale di 119 tavole. Questa tavola di traduzione riprende un dipinto eseguito da Angelo Inganni (Brescia 1807 - Gussago 1880) su commissione del Nobile Signor Filippo dei Marchesi Villani. Vediamo Piazza Borromeo a Milano durante una copiosa nevicata. Gli edifici che circondano la piazza hanno i tetti imbiancati, gli esili alberi in primo piano sono spogli, animano la scena signori in tuba e pastrano, un curato, due cani, un carro e una carrozza, una scena animata che pare descritta come in un fotogramma. Si noti a destra l’insegna di un rivendita di "Tabacchi/sale e cartaboll” appena sotto l’insegna con l’aquila bicipite dell’Imperatore d’Austria. Oltre l’immagine in basso inciso il titolo e più sotto nell'angolo destro "Cherbuin dis. et inc". Impressione eccellente dai contrasti chiaroscurali. Ottimo stato di conservazione. In questa tavola, tratta dal dipinto di Angelo Inganni (Brescia 1807 - Gussago 1880) La colonna di S.Martiniano al Verziere con effetto di neve 1845, viene rappresentata attraverso incisivi giochi chiaroscurali, una interessante e caratteristica veduta milanese durante una nevicata. La veduta è significativa proprio perché raro esempio in cui la condizione atmosferica fa da protagonista. Al centro della composizione vediamo svettare la Colonna del Verziere, situata nell’attuale Largo Augusto circondata da edifici innevati, in primo piano due uomini spalano la neve, poco oltre due prelati sono fermi a chiacchierare, sulla sinistra una donna è intenta a cucinare, tutta la scena è animata da uomini e donne intenti nelle loro faccende. Dal cielo grigio, tipico delle giornate invernali, scende la neve che crea un'atmosfera magica e avvolge la città nel suo manto candido. Si noti sulla destra l’insegna con l’aquila bicipite dell’Imperatore d’Austria, più sotto l’indicazione stradale via San Bernardino. Oltre l’immagine in basso al centro, inciso, Cherbuin dis. et inc., e più sotto titolo, editore e anno. Impressione eccellente, dai toni intensi. Ottimo stato di conservazione. Carlo Musso si diploma in scultura presso la Regia Accademia Albertina di belle arti di Torino nel 1882; fu titolare della ditta Fratelli Musso e Papotti di decorazione a stucco e marmo artificiali. Per indagare i rapporti tra architettura e decorazione, eseguì progetti in collaborazione con Carlo Ceppi, Pietro Fenoglio, Giovanni Chevalley e Annibale Rigotti. Firma per esteso in basso a destra.
