Slight toning to interior margins but otherwise clean unmarked. Very Good or Better quite rare.

Judging by the chief concern of this self-published poetry book one can infer that Mr. Earl L. Newton must have worked for the U.S. Postal Service in some capacity at some point in his life. Indeed an 1899 issue of The Detroit Free Press notes that a man of that name was appointed to a local railroad post office clerk position. In any case a "nixie box" was what postal workers used to store undeliverable mail and Newton's book contains a number of light-hearted verses on a range of topics but most with the good old "R.P.O" at its core.
