This copy is signed by Mrs. Stanard on the title page.~~A fine choice for Virginia history lovers to read on a chill winter's night. Krick says that "Mrs. Stanard tells the story of this 1676 incident well though not thoroughly. Critics were quick to point out the unseemly romanticism of the work and its unswerving devotion to Bacon and his supporters." We confess to liking our history was a generous dose of "unseemly romanticism" and nice to have Mrs. Stanard's first solo work signed by her.~ Krick 475. Very Good binding.
