A Good only copy retaining the original wrappers. Date based on rear wrapper advertisement referring to the author as the "the late Newton M. Curtis" the author's date of death ca. February 1849. Historical novel set in the Mohawk Valley in the years leading up to the Revolutionary War. The author churned out such popular works sending his novels in large droves to various periodicals without instruction. This example first serialized in "Magazine for the Million" in 1844.
