Negli allegati in appendice sono indicati i nomi delle persone colpite dalla malattia, con indicazione dell'eta', della professione, della contrada in cui abitavano, e l'indicazione della guarigione o del decesso.

It includes individual title pages from earlier editions. Morison's Hygiest System consisted of Universal Vegetable Medical Cures; as well as various warm baths. The "British College of Health" was an institution mostly of Morison's own invention. L'epidemia del 1884-87, iniziata a Marsiglia e Tolone, si diffuse anche in Italia specie in Sicilia e a Napoli: tanto che nel 1885 fu emanata dal Regno unitario una speciale "legge per Napoli". In 16, pp. 71 + (1). Gora al margine inferiore del piatto anteriore. Br. ed. Interessante e poco comune operetta, traduzione italiana di quella apparsa sulla rivista tedesca 'Archiv fur Hygiene' che testimonia la differente teoria circa la trasmissione del colera (come di altre patologie) del chimico Pettenkorfer, docente di chimica clinica nell'universita' di Monaco, quindi d'igiene nella stessa universita'. Nel 1873 fu membro della commissione per gli studi sul colera e nel 1889 presidente dell'Accademia bavarese delle scienze. Pettenkorfer fu sempre contrario alla teoria del 'contagio', che divenne dominante nel Novecento, in base alla quale i germi sono causa diretta delle malattie. Per quanto riguarda il colera, riteneva che l'esistenza del bacillo, del vibrione del colera, non potesse da solo giustificare l'insorgere della malattia ma che si trattasse si una combinazione tra il germe e la natura. Quando il germe entrava in contatto con suoli asciutti dava origine ai fattori scatenanti dell'epidemia escludendo quindi che si trasmettesse tra individui o per ingestione di sostanze infette. In questo modo si escludeva l'acqua come veicolo primo di trasmissione della malattia. Quando l'ambiente, invece, sviluppava naturalmente delle condizioni particolari, il germe aveva la possibilita' di diventare pericoloso. Da qui discendeva che piu' che lo sviluppo di vaccini e di farmaci, bisognasse migliorare le condizioni della rete idrica e l'uomo dovesse, tramite un'alimentazione corretta e una vita equilibrata, sviluppare delle forme di resistenza proprie agli agenti esterni.

Mancanze della pelle presso le cuffie, bel titolo chiaramente impresso tra fregi al dorso. 1) LICHTENTHAL, pp. XV, 271. Censito in 3 bibl. ital. Lichtenthal, austriaco (Pressburg 1778 - Milano 1853), medico e compositore musicale amico di Mozart e di Paganini, a Milano dal 1810, scrisse anche sulla musicoterapia. Qui riporta i medici inglesi Annesley e Jameson, ma anche metodi maomettani; e fonti ufficiali della RUSSIA (cure, fenomeni, statistiche ecc.) sulle epidemie dalla "coléra asiatica" del 1829 e 1830. 2) BROUSSAIS, pp. 96. Censito in 7 bibl. ital. (Saint-Malo 1772 - Vitry-sur-Seine 1838) fisiologo, e pensava che lo stomaco fosse "la sede delle emozioni", in collegamento con le patologie del cervello, e curava la maggior parte delle malattie come collegate alla gastroenterite. Fu influenzato dalla teoria della frenologia di Franz Joseph Gall. Nel 1832 scoppiò un'epidemia di colera che minò profondamente le sue teorie fisiologiche dato che la sua terapia a base di sanguisughe si dimostrò del tutto inutile: infatti uno dei suoi più famosi pazienti, Casimir Pierre Périer, primo ministro francese, morì sotto le sue cure. Questo insuccesso della sua teoria gli fece perdere notevolmente popolarità che riuscì a riacquisire grazie alla sua abilità retorica e alle lezioni di frenologia che tenne presso l'università di Parigi.
