Her third novel '<em>Fidelity</em>' was originally published in 1915. In 1931 her play '<em>Alison's House</em>' won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.</p><p>This Russian translation was completed by Adel' Polotskaia-Volina 1880–1944. She studied at the University of Geneva from 1901 to 1904 and upon returning to Russia worked as a translator for various magazines and publishing houses.
