Daubrée finds that fairly uniform folds form when homogenous beds under spatially uniform vertical pressures are subjected to sufficient horizontal pressure the amount of the pressure indfluencing the number and shape of the folds. Continued pressurein such a case results in a regular series of synclines and anticlines.
