First published in 1640 but the second printing under this title this therapeutic medical treatise outlines treatments for 85 different bodily ailments and includes historical and practical descriptions of five chronic conditions. It is divided into four parts: sickness of the digestive and endocrine systems sickness of the brain and heart women’s illnesses and essays on diseases. The book concludes with Riviére’s medical recipes including the Potion de Riviére a carbonated anti-emetic renowned for its efficacy. <br /> Riviére 1589-1655 was a French physician and instructor.
