Contemporary rolled and stamped pigskin remains of clasps worn at the corners but quite sound - an attractive binding. First published in 1593 Graesse D355 various editions. A widely disseminated and influential book - as central in its way as the Malleus Maleficarum - Del Rio untangles good and bad magic superstition idolatry and devil worship and gives a list of Devil inspired authors Bacon Paracelsus George Ripley etc. Though written from a generally counter-reformation stance Delrio's work was the standard guide for Catholics and Protestants throughout the 17th and 18th centuries. Il y acquit une grande réputation comme praticien. Il fut conseiller et médecin du Roy Louis XIII.
