Gera-Untermhaus, Eugen Köhler, 1897-1905, dodici volumi in-folio legature originali in mezza percallina rossa, angoli rinforzati, con 449 bellissime tavole litografiche a piena pagina (delle quali ben 436 cromolitografiche). Naturalmente completo. (Nissen, VB, 667 - Ceresoli, 375). Una delle opere iconograficamente più affascinanti sull'argomento. Moltissime le tavole firmate da Keulemans. Foro di c.a 5 mm. al piatto posteriore dell vol. XII che si protrae anche ai margini bianchi delle ultime 30 pagine senzaledere il testo o le tavole). Copia comunque in ottimo stato di conservazione.

The first edition was in three series published between 1838 and 1857. Wood 620: 'Famous series of essays on zoological, mainly ornithological, subjects'. There are also chapters on cannibalism, flower gardens and song birds, trees, birds' eggs, methods of preserving insects, museums, snakes, etc. Waterton is most famous for his work Wanderings in South America, published in 1825, and studied the natural history of South America, United States and the West Indies.
