The color plates in this facsimile are extraordinarily well-produced - the colors are vivid and bright with excellent color separation. These fine color plates are printed on glossy clay-coated paper which provides excellent color reproduction. This is the only reprint published of this important work. There is one copy of the first edition of this work being offered online for $140000. Thus this reprint is a bargain by comparison. The copy used to reprint this work is housed in the Rare Book Room of the American Museum of Natural of Natural History. This large and heavy set weighs 27 lbs.
