History of the New York and Long Branch Railroad incorporated in 1868 with its original section from Perth Amboy to Long Branch completed in 1875. Over the next five years it added four additional short lines New Egypt and Farmingdale Long Branch abd Sea Girt New York and Long Branch Extension and Long Branch and Barnegat and in 1882 entered into a lease agreement with the Central New Jersey and the Pennsylvania Railroad systems.
