Fox offers a Marxist analysis of literature a study of writers like Tolstoy and Balzac and ends with a discussion of proletarian fiction. He was killed in the Spanish Civil War at the Battle of Lopera in 1936 before he could see his book in print. It sold very well especially in paperback.
