Bill was born out west and shipped east with others from his ranch to be sold at auction. His face is too long his ears are too big and even George who falls in love with him has to admit he is ugly. But Bill is tall and strong and gentle and brave. George is recovering from an illness and has not been told he can ride Bill yet but then again he has not been told he can¿t.
