Double off-white acid-free mount gilt frame lightly rubbed to corners. Very good condition. Biography: British born 1951. Alison Cooper was born in Libya and studied at Newport College of Art and Florence University. A love of gardening and plants in general led her to take up painting full time after her children went to school. She has since exhibited at the Royal Horticultural Society and won many medals the most recent being a Silver Gilt for a collection of Dianthus. She has also exhibited widely throughout Britain including the Tryon and Swann Gallery Malcom Innes' Gallery the SBA and at Kew in London and at other exhibitions in Birmingham with the RBSA and at the Botanical Gardens. Her work is represented in the Dr Shirley Sherwood collection of Contemporary Botanical Artists and photographs are held in the Bridgeman Art Library in London. She has also produced many postcards and cards with designs of flowers fruit and vegetables. She has been a regular Artist in Residence at Nature in Art near Gloucester and she gives regular workshops there and at home in Monmouthshire. courtesy of the artist's website.
