198119913New Line Cinema Corp 1981. NA. Fine. John Waters added another dimension to film going with Odorama making the sordid settings the more vivid by engaging your nostrils. Smell cards were a gimmick tried out in a handful of movies in the 1950s when the movie industry were desperate to win back audiences who were choosing to stay home and watch television. As far as we know Waters was the first to work with the sense of smell in years and now when one thinks of the movies with scripted odors Polyester is the movie that comes to mind. Part of the thrill of a Waters movie was the joy of being thoroughly grossed out and oh how Odorama delivered as audiences laughed hysterically as they screamed ughs and yucks. Our Odorama card is unused and in all respects in mint condition. We have not scratched the dots to test the purity of the stenches concentrated underneath. As to that caveat emptor. The card measures 28 by 13 cm. The front has stills of the actors Divine shown with her inimitable expressions and in one photo as a man she often played male characters as well as her trademark drag in her movies. The other side well it is dormant waiting for someone to release its explosion of smells. New Line Cinema Corp unknown

This is an original poster for the "Gala World Premiere" of John Water's Pink Flamingos at the Baltimore Film Festival III. Genuinely rare particularly in fine condition and far more desirable than the reasonably common general release poster. A wonderful addition to a serious Waters' collection. Pink Flamingos premiered in 1972 at the third Baltimore Film Festival held on the University of Baltimore campus where it played to sold-out audiences for three shows. Gradually relying on word-of-mouth the movie gained a following and repeat viewing in the art-house circuit. Bright and unmarred. As usual Waters was both writer and director and cast Divine Francine Fishpaw and Tab Hunter Todd Tomorrow in the lead roles. The promo includes a two page plus four lines synopsis; a four page biographical treatment of Waters with a discussion of his films; and a cast list with production information. "Polyester introduces ODORAMA a ludicrous gimmick which will allow the audience to share in 10 of the more penetrating odors that plague poor Francine" --page 2. Extremely uncommon.
