Reliure légèrement usée, un coin abîmé, traces de frottements. Quelques illustrations in-texte. Réédition de ce voyage en Amérique du Sud et en Australie publié en anglais, pour la première fois en 1839. Après avoir reçu le Journal de Bord du capitaine du Beagle, le commandant Fritz-Roy, fit paraître une deuxième édition en 1845. Ce journal contient l'histoire du voyage et de quelques observations sur l'histoire naturelle et la géologie de l'Amérique du Sud et de l'Australie. Cette édition en français, soit la deuxième, contient toutes les modifications et simplifications voulues par l'auteur dans l'édition anglaise de 1860.
