He was an associate of Samuel FB Morse and worked with Morse on the introduction of the telegraph building the line from Louisville to New Orleans and St. Louis to Jefferson City. He held office in various telegraph companies and invented several methods of blasting with nitroglycerine and high explosives. unknown
