While this was the 4th annual meeting reportedly only the 2nd year that the Transactions were published. Wilhelm Rontgen had made his discovery of the rays that he called X-rays only 9 years earlier in 1895. Very Good lettering at spine dulled yet legible light soiling and rubbing to cloth boards light soiling to page block. RARE. He coined the word agnosticism and earned the nickname "Darwin's bulldog" for his earnest defense of Darwin's theory of evolution.
