Mit Vorwort. Der Autor (* 6. Juni 1819 in Berlin; † 7. Januar 1892 in Wien) war unter anderem Professor für Physiologie in Königsberg und von 1849 bis 1890 war er Professor für Physiologie an der Universität Wien, ihm höchste Ehrungen, unter anderen die Erhebung in den erblichen Adelsstand (1873), zuteil wurden. Darüber hinaus war er 1879 Rektor der Universität Wien, Mitglied der Akademie der Wissenschaften sowie des Ordens Pour le mérite. Im Jahr 1879 wurde er zum ständigen Mitglied des Herrenhauses des österreichischen Reichsrates ernannt. Im Jahr 1852 wurde er zum Mitglied der Gelehrtenakademie Leopoldina gewählt, und seit 1854 war er korrespondierendes Mitglied der Preußischen Akademie der Wissenschaften (siehe Wikipedia).

Name auf Titel, papierbedingt gegilbt, 3 Blatt mit hinterlegtem Eckeneinriß, sonst ist der Buchblock in gutem Zustand. "Otto Heinrich Warburg (* 1883 in Freiburg im Breisgau; † 1970 in West-Berlin) war ein deutscher Biochemiker, Arzt und Physiologe. 1931 erhielt er für „die Entdeckung der Natur und der Funktion des Atmungsferments“ den Nobelpreis für Physiologie oder Medizin." (Wikipedia). Der Autor war derzeit Direktor des Kaiser-Wilhelm-Instituts für Zellphysiologie und hat (laut Vorwort Mai 1948) seine verstreut erschienenen Arbeiten zum Thema aus der Zeit 1932-1948 in diesem Band veröffentlicht. Angelici, autore di diverse pubblicazione sul tema della vaccinazione fu tra i propagatori della necessità delle terapie di vaccinazione collettiva. In questo studio monografico l’autore riporta le sue esperienze ed i suoi esperimenti in campo immunologico confrontandoli con varie esperienze estere.
