The second issue of the first volume RARE. Tenore was an Italian botanist with extensive publications. He helped establish the Botanical Garden of Naples and became its director in 1810. He also served as president of the Accademia nazionale delle scienze and served as president of the Accademia Pontaniana six times from the 1830s through the 1850s. This also contains the signature of Joannes Fraser and many neat manuscript annotations and corrections throughout the text; some place names are underlined lightly in red ink on the map also. With the bookplate of the alpine nurserman Will Ingwersen. RARE. Mackay 1775 - 1862 was a Scottish botanist who lived in Ireland. He discovered several species of plants new to the British Isles and contributed largely to Sir J. E. Smith's English Botany 1790-1814. His herbarium is preserved at Trinity College Dublin. The flora is a thorough one and is particualrly respected for its second volume on the mosses and algae which was written by Harvey & Taylor. First Edition. Half Leather. Good.
