As usual his witty and entertaining accounts are enlivened by William McLaren's delightful illustrations. COMPLETE SETS IN DUSTWRAPPERS ARE VERY SCARCE.

Beverley Nichols' second and best-known trilogy forms a delightful chronicle of the enhancement of his Georgian manor house and gardens at Ashtead in Surrey. It comprises 'Merry Hall' (1951), 'Laughter on the Stairs (1953) and 'Sunlight on the Lawn' (1956). An abridged version of the trilogy was issued in a single volume as 'The Gift of a Home' in 1972. SCARCE AS A SET IN THIS CONDITION.
