But for the dulling of the gilt on the cloth a pristine set No issues whatsoever.The Journal des Roses was a French monthly magazine founded in 1877 by Scipion Cochet 1833-1896 that specialized in the cultivation of roses. It served as a link between professional rose growers like the Cochet family and rose lovers. It dealt with cultivation methods the latest varieties of roses many from the Cochet house but not only with their characteristics informed treaders about the latest innovations and reported on national and international exhibitions and competitions. Camille Bernardin president of the Rosière Society is the editor-in-chief until 1884; Pierre-Philémon Cochet succeeds him then it is the turn of Pierre Cochet to ensure the direction of the review. In 1911 the Journal des Roses was bought by Charles Cochet-Cochet cousin and brother-in-law of Pierre Cochet; but it ceased publication when WWI broke out A. Goin hardcover
