See Drivers' Culinary Landmarks Citation No. Q79.4 p. 138 wherein she states: "The French-language edition is not a straight translation of the English edition. The most obvious change is the new title - La Cuisinière Five Roses - meaning the Five Roses Cook - and a new design for the binding in an art-nouveau style. Instead of an image of a child stirring the contents of a bowl there is an image of a woman 'la Cuisinière reading this cookbook; the image is signed by the artist M.C. Perley. The design of the English-language edition can be described as 'cute'; the design of the French edition as sophisticated".
