With twenty appendices and full general index. The appendices include numerous conversion tables, recipes and directions, catalogue of farming implements with prices, suggestions for a farmer's library, tables of old and new names for agricultural chemicals and preparations, and similar matter. First published in 1771, Young's 'Farmer's Calendar' was an immediate success, swiftly establishing itself as a standard reference. Successively enlarged and improved, it grew in stature until being entirely rewritten by Chalmers for the twenty-first edition of 1862. UNUSUALLY BRIGHT, CLEAN COPY. See Perkins, p.277.
