A tape repair has kept this endpaper in the book. We would have preferred to use archival tape but the repair was made prior to our acquisition of the book. None the less relatively hard to notice- we are trained to notice these things. First edition stated full number line. No other marks or tears. All color plates intact. Blue cloth binding good with some general wear and rubbing to edges and corners gilt titling to spine contents clean but for a few newspaper cuttings pasted to the front pastedown and llibrary stamps. The previous owner's name C. E. Salmon Xmas 1897 is inked to the front free pastedown along with a few ticks to the margin of the corrections page. C. E.Salmon was the author of the first edition of Flora of Surrey. There is also a letter included regarding the finding of Herminium Monorchis Musk Orchid by A. B. Jackson. Jackson was responsible for the revison to Wayside and Woodland Blossoms. Clarendon Press Hardcover
