Rockefeller Jr. An Archive Of Their Papers And Photographs Is At The University Of Oregon. An Archive Of Material By Their Daughter Dorris Including Her Children's Book "Sue In Tibet" And Other Material And A Much Larger Archive Of Dr. Shelton's Annotated Photographs Extensive Scrapbooks Of Clippings And Papers Books Etc. Are Also Available Separately. Such Original Material From Early Twentieth Century Tibet Is Scarce As Most Tibetan Libraries Were Burned By The Chinese Authorities And Writings About Everyday Life In Tibet Itself Have Been Entirely Prevented Or Heavily Censored For Well Over 120 Years The Missionary Writings Being A Striking Exception. <br/> <br/> Unpublished unknown

In spite of the chips I'm rating this DJ Near Fine because it is still for the most part complete and very attractive. The flaps of the DJ are blank with no printed price. There is no signature or other marking on the endpapers or in the book. This book is exceptionall clean with no soiling clean pages and textblock. Top edge stained red. Text very tight and crisp. Ninth-five years old and well cared for and not abused. If it does not sell I will gladly keep it. This is a stellar copy with no problems.</p> Longmans hardcover

Written by the first female member of the Board of Indian Commissioners an advisory board that helped craft U.S. Government policy regarding the rights of Native people and crafted laws regarding the U.S. Government's treaty obligations to them. A 1946 inscription on the free front endpaper; jacket with a stain on its front panel and with a few chips a dampstain on its reverse. The later dust jacket with two chips to its spine panel.
