He introduced the Hamilton System, a method of teaching languages. The basic principle is that words are learned on a word-for-word translation basis before tackling grammar. In September 1816 he went to Philadelphia, where he gave his first lecture on the 'Hamiltonian System', and printed his first reading-book, chapters 1 to 3 of St John's gospel, in French, with an interlinear and analytical translation. He undertook to teach adults in fifteen lessons to translate the Gospel of St. John from French into English, but found, we are told, ten lessons sufficient. He returned to England in 1823 and visited the major cities, teaching his system, although it was being denounced by many as quackery. He died in Dublin in 1831.

Fine Turkish Original wrappers. Cr. 8vo. (20 x 14 cm). In Turkish. 108, [2] p., bibliography and index. First Edition of this rare first study on Mexico peasantry in Turkish literature written by early Republican Turkish peasantry ideologist and early pioneer of the Republican illumination. Nusret Kemal, who works on the peasantry ideology of many countries in Europe, America, and the Far East, sees Mexico differently from other examples in this context. Although there is a disconnection between the city and the countryside, having a school in each village was also noted as a reason to reduce concerns about the future in this book. According to him, because the school is described not only as a place where education is given but also as an important place where culture is continued, cultural heritage is shared and the consciousness of the nation is kept alive. In addition, schools, which serve as a bridge for the revolutionary movements to reach the people, have been interpreted as the most important pillar of state-people integration. This text, in the early period of the Republic of Turkey, has been an important reference in the context of the establishment of the Village Institutes of Turkey. Kemal says in the preface "When speaking of Mexico, one point in particular that deserves attention is that the gap between the modern city and the backward village is too deep to be bridged in one year, or even a generation. The visible realm of efforts to unite old Mexico and new Mexico is the village schools and local education; it is again these schools that pioneers new nationalism in Mexico.". First Edition. Extremely rare. Only two copies in Paris and Istanbul in OCLC: 32655350, 949393158.
