Rollin was a brilliant educator whose most important works were written during his retirement. He was nearly sixty when he began this "Traite des Etudes", which explains his method of teaching and studying belles-lettres. It contains ideas which seem hackneyed now, but which then were new and revolutionary - for example: the necessity of studying national history; using school-books written in the vernacular; and the importance of mathematics and science in general studies. Rollin is most famous to collectors for his unfinished world history. **PRICE JUST REDUCED! FR3
