19251656Austria: M.O. Groh & Co. 1925. Hardcover. Fair/poor. Two volume hardcovers in dustjackets text in German. A fair condition set with dustjackets both in poor condition. A readers copy or perhaps a breaker due to the beauty of the full page color plates. Volume 1 740 pages beautiful color illustration to the front cover with gilt titles and design but a streak of staining and soil to the bottom of the front cover spineward and to the top of the rear cover as well. Darkening to the text block edges. An outward bend to the top of the rear cover. Some loosening at the first gathering but binding and hinges are solid. Volume 2 pages 741-1427 indexed. Similar darkening of the text block edge. Large cup stain to the rear cover and tearing to the bottom of the rear joint. Binding and hinges intact and solid. A miscut page has edges poking out at the bottom front corner. For both volumes the interior is much better with illustrated endpapers hundreds of black and white illustrations and some full page color plates. A light musty smell which is not unexpected somehow. The dustjackets are barely there with large chunks missing staining and discoloration - included more for completion than for their quality. Included laid in at front of volume 2 "Album der anatomisch zerlegbaren modelle des mannlichen und weiblichen korpers" with beautiful full color foldouts of the human body and "fach = und fremdworter=verzeichnis" a short dictionary of relevant foreign words and a striking one page folded advert for "quer durch americka."

M.O.
