In 1688 he joined the Prince of Orange and fought at the Battle of the Boyne. The Countess d. 1719 was the daughter of George Kirke the well-known groom of the bedchamber. He bore the sword Curtana at the coronation of Charles II and the Sword of State at the next three coronations. At this date payments were still carefully allotted to particular funds in this case the receipts from the first year's income of the various bishoprics. unknown

Woodforde's account includes Oxford and the Somerset Curacies 1758-1776 and thereafter his residence in the Norfolk village of Weston Longeville. The set comprises Vol. I: 1758-1781; Vol. II: 1782-87; Vol. III: 1788-92; Vol. IV: 1793-1796; Vol. V: 1797-1802. Beresford's definitive edition was first published in five volumes between 1924 and 1931. Much-needed reissue of the first reprint of 1968. A monumental and influential catalogue which some thought should be the model for the new British Museum catalogue.
