Folio, drop-head title, docket title, 8pp., disbound. The houses and ground were in the Parish of St. Mary the Virgin, in the City of Oxford, in trust for the use of the Church and poor of the parish. The property was bounded by the east side of Cat Street, and included the Parish Orchard which was bounded by a stone wall, extending from the garden of the warden of New College on the east and from the garden of the principal of Hart Hall on the west. The L and O copies only in the ESTC.

4to., Facsimile Re-issue, with a frontispiece and numerous illustrations; cloth, a very good, clean copy in the dustwrapper, the latter lightly chafed at extremities. First published in 1938, the author's first prose work is an entertaining survey (architectural, historical and social) of the Oxford he knew and adored as an undergraduate. Volumes of this splendid series were produced in two bindings, the relatively common grey cloth and the much less common red cloth (as here). First edition of Archbishop Benson's famous 'Lincoln Judgment', following the ecclesiastical trial of Edward King, Lord Bishop of Lincoln, charged with eight ritual offences carried out in the Diocese of Lincoln. One of the most important ecclesiastical trials relating to the Oxford Movement, the case delivered two fundamental judgements. First, a binding legal decision on certain disputed questions of ritual, and secondly that the jurisdiction of the archbishop of Canterbury alone is sufficient to try one of his suffrgan bishops. A rare survival.
