Bright yellow jacket by Gollancz, with at least 4cm of the upper edge missing, possibly eaten due to the munchies! Since 1898, when Tigerstadt and Bergman first extracted renin from rabbit kidney, the renin Drugs, Enzymes and Receptors of the Renin is designed to highlight molecular and clinical approaches to understanding the renin. Chapter topics have been specifically chosen to cover selected contemporary, controversial and unresolved issues. A novel and unique feature of this book is that a commentary on each chapter, written by an independent peer or peers, is included to present alternative views, greater depth and a different perspective. Clinicians and researchers alike will find this volume a stimulating, and perhaps even entertaining, addition to their libraries. Minor bump to top corner. Although blood transfusion has never been safer than it is today, concerns about safety and the corresponding need for information about risks and benefits are greater than ever before. This combined with the increasing demand for health care resources has put pressure on the need to treat wisely and economically. The Handbook of Blood Transfusion Therapy, Second Edition is a substantial revision of Blood Transfusion Therapy: A Problem Oriented Approach, and reflects the major advances that have occurred in a number of clinical fields since the first edition. It is as a result of these developments that transfusion is significantly more effective and safe as a therapeutic activity, provided that it is used judiciously by informed practitioners. This timely edition promotes this educational message by placing emphasis on the practical issues concerning the use of blood transfusion products and services while covering the core knowledge needed for the management of day - to - day problems. Concise and lucid, it is an invaluable source of information for all medical and nursing staff responsible for the management of commonly encountered blood transfusion problems, and essential for train. 488 pages Clean Copy
