H10359Very Good. Album measures 7.5 x 5.5 stiff paper covers dozens of snapshots mainly charting the growth of daughter Glenna Miriam Custis born in Finlay Ohio in 1913 from babyhood to tweener. There are some nice evocative "vernacular photography" snapshots none is captioned however so the occasional appearance in the album of a pair of women who look like identical twins lends an air of mystery to the sequence of pictures. Glenna 1913-2002 eventually married a preacher herself moved to western Pennsylvania Tarentum and Natrona Heights area and had one daughter now deceased. The album covers Glenna's life in smalltown Ohio. unknown

199169536Praha Prague: Odeon 1991. Czech edition. Paperback. Near Fine/Very Good. 165pp. Duodecimo 18 cm White and black printed wraps. In the publisher's dust jacket with very light rubbing and an old price sticker on the rear panel. Most of the text is in Czech. Summary in German French and English. The work of Czech photographer Jan Svoboda 1934-1990 "stems from 'art povera' and the minimal art of the sixties. His desire to simplify while retaining the inherent mystery in his photography means that his images repay close study and can be returned to time and time again with increasing satisfaction. The subject is photography itself so that while the objects portrayed can sometimes be imbued with a symbolic meaning this is not their primary purpose." - https://thephotographersgallery.org.uk/whats-on/jan-svoboda.
