Volume in lingua inglese . 4to (29x29 cm). pp. 246. . Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione (First Edition). .

ISBN 9782080203724. Willy Ronis (1910?2009) was one of the great photographers of the twentieth century. Selected by MoMA curator Edward Steichen for inclusion in two groundbreaking exhibitions, The Family of Man and Five French Photographers, his work depicts the poetic and poignant reality of life in postwar France. From carefree children to embracing lovers, and from sun-dappled Provence to the cobblestones of Paris, Ronis?s humanist eye found joy in the simplest moments of everyday life. In his last decades, Ronis donated his complete works to the French State. To accompany this gift, he made a personal selection of what he considered to be his most noteworthy images?590 in total?mounting them in a series of albums and providing meticulous commentary on each photograph. Combining anecdotes with historical and technical context, they constitute an essential document on the photographer?s long career. This exceptional volume reproduces, in full, the contents of Ronis?s albums for the first time. Together they form a touching, intimate portrait of the life, career, and worldview of a singular artist in the history of photography.

Paperback, 17x24.5cm., 80pp., duotone ills., nieuw. nNL ISBN 9789066251335.

ill., br. Declan Long.

pp. 44 + Large glossy print frontis photograph of 13 men at their 25th reunion. 8vo. 220 mm. Disbound. Original printed front wrap present. The owner of this scarce pamphlet was Thomas S. McClelland, a prominent lawyer in Chicago. Born in PA, he graduated Williams in 1864, and almost immediately joined the Union Army. Called "Honest Tom" by his classmastes, he was over 6' tall "straight as an Indian, and almost as swarthy." He missed the reunion, and does not appear in the photograph. Those that do are identified on p. 4. In the photo they appear to be a substanial and quietly prosperous group. Most are dressed in frock coats, holding their top hats and bowlers. Softcover, 232 pages, ENG, 250 x 220 x 20 mm, in Perfect condition!, coloured photographs about the most loyal best friend of man, with some folding pages. ISBN 9780810992429. Man Ray, William Wegman's first Weimaraner, became a central figure in Wegman's photographs and videotapes, known in the art world and beyond for his endearing deadpan presence. In 1978, Wegman was invited by Polaroid Corporation to try out its mammoth 20 x 24" camera, and he began a series of photographs featuring Man Ray that were published in Abrams' Man's Best Friend. In 1986 a new dog, Fay Ray, came into Wegman's life and soon thereafter another famous collaboration began. After Man Ray died in 1982, Wegman continued his exploration of the medium with non-canine subjects, and he also began to work with the expanding universe of Fay Ray's progeny. Throughout the years, Wegman has maintained an extraordinary level of creativity, capturing his versatile subjects in a seemingly limitless variety of poses and guises. This book gathers together the best of his work - hundreds of unique, large-format photographs - with an insightful and candid essay by the artist exploring his experiences with the camera and his exceptional models. Though many of these images have become well known through exhibitions, books, and his best-selling calendars, some of the best had never been published when this book was originally
