After beating the Giants a year earlier the Yanks were faced with a fired up Dodger team and had to go the full seven games to win the series. It was an exciting series that went back and forth and while there was some good pitching and many home runs it was Billy Martin's inches from the ground catch that ended the Dodger's hopes for a series win. baseball-almanac website. </p>
