This is one GREAT book on hunting cats with hounds. Published in a fairly small edition the book is uncommon in spite of recent publication date. This copy is AS NEW in original gilt pictorial cloth. Roe Deer Fallow Deer and Irish Red Deer. Large format. Gives hunter and various measurements for each head pictured all presumably top records at the time. Measurements were taken by Rowland Ward. This is copy # 361 of only 600 numbered copies. An unusually clean fine copy in orig. white gilt cloth. This copy from the library of noted naturalist Sir Edmund Loder his engraved bookplate inside front cover. Loder was also on the executive committee of men who selected the trophies and organized the book so this is a particularly nice association copy. Laid inside are also two pages showing a typical Irish head and a fine old Scottish head. Country Life hardcover

Promotional brochure for hunting with the famous Newland Tarlton Leslie Tarlton company. Looks like it was published around 1910 to 1915 as the company dissolved in 1919. Offers hunting in British East Africa and Uganda. Price list conditions etc. Tarlton is considered the first ever "White Hunter" and he was also a founding member of the EAPHA. His favorite big game trophy was lion and he is estimated to have shot 284 of them! The man and the firm are both legendary and brochures for his company are rare. We have never seen one before. VG.
