18396997Edinburgh: Hugh Paton Carver and Gilder to Her Majesty the Queen 1839. FIRST EDITION large 4to pp. ii xii 20 lithograph frontispiece and 4 hand-coloured double-page lithograph plates. Original purple finely-textured cloth front board lettered in gilt. Some spotting. Boards somewhat marked a little bumped to edges cloth lightly rippled in places. An attractively-illustrated account of the Earl of Eglinton’s famous folly a tournament banquet and ball in best medieval style.
